Avoid Charity Fraud
There are many criminals around the world who falsely claim to represent charities in order to take advantage of the
generosity of kind hearted people. Financing a legitimate charity is challenging at best, but the loss of confidence among
potential donors that has been caused by fraudsters operating on the African continent has made raising money for
organizations such as Child Rescue Mission - Uganda especially difficult. Fortunately, it is possible for you to avoid charity
fraud and be sure that your contributions actually go to the cause you support by following a few simple guidelines.
Do not donate to organizations that: 1) refuse to provide detailed information about their identity, mission, costs, and how
donations will be used; 2) use high pressure tactics like trying to get you to donate immediately, without giving you time to
think about it and do your research; or 3) offer to send a courier or overnight delivery service to colect donations
Be cautious in dealing with charities you aren't familiar with that ask for any personal information that can be used to
withdraw funds from your accounts. Child Rescue Mission – Uganda never asks you for such personal information and
does not authorize the use of its name or logo in any solicitations that ask for such information.
It is also usually prudent to be wary of organizations that ask you for cash or ask you to wire money. Child Rescue Mission
– Uganda does, however, recommend using the Western Union wire transfer service to make donations after you verify our
reputation and legitimacy. Western Union has particularly high security standards and does not share with us any of the
personal information you provide to register for their service and make a donation.
If you have any doubts about the legitimacy of Child Rescue Mission – Uganda, please email us at email@example.com
